Easter

We had a lot of fun this Easter!

Jillian started the Easter weekend with an egg hunt at school on Thursday. They painted and made their own baskets and everything. She got the hang of it very quickly and stayed close to her friend Avery.

This was about our 5th attempt but we finally got a picture of Avery and Jillian together. The matching bunny ears and denim skirts were not planed. They often have similar outfits on at school.
Jillian and "Nana" were easier to capture
Jillian wanted to check out her eggs right away and when she discovered that many of them had stickers in them, she was so excited!
Early Friday morning we were off to Hallettsville so that Jillian could have a nap before Church and all of the festivities at Henke Hill. She was very interested in seeing the horses at the Hill and convinced Granny to take her many times. We finally had to tell her "no more!"

Jillian enjoyed playing with all of her cousins
and in the treehouse. She was so good and played by herself instead of clinging to mommy. She played so hard all afternoon and evening. We won't tell you what that led to that night from the over tiredness and dehydration!
As tradition, the kids always load up in a truck to go look for the Easter bunny. This is the 1st year that Jillian has actually gotten in the truck and it think it was only b/c I put pretzels in her Easter basket, but hey, whatever works. The truck is starting to get very full - I think we may have to go to 2 trucks eventually!
While they were gone, the Easter Bunny came to bring eggs and Jillian enjoyed hunting
She wasn't too fond of the Bunny again this year but we tricked her into finally getting a picture. After posing for this picture, Mommy told the Bunny to sneak behind us without her knowing.

She eventually warmed up and less give him a high five!
She even sat by herself and the kid table to eat her dinner
On Saturday we spent some time at Granny's house and Jillian was swinging in a big girl swing.
we of course posed for pictures with Granny, Grandpa, and all of the cousins
and opened presents from Granny and Grandpa

Granny then had a craft project for all the kids to do. She did it with her kiddos at the daycare and all of the kids loved doing it. I was impressed that Jillian was able to do most of it by herself!

Here is the finished project! She decided to put the bow at the top all on her own, which I thought was quite cleverThen she got to hunt eggs again

We headed home that evening so we could spend Easter with Daddy since that was the only day of the weekend that he had off. That morning Jillian ran right by the Easter baskets but when she came back she was excited at what she saw!
The Easter Bunny brought her a real fishing pole so that she can go fishing with Daddy,
some clothes, a book, and of course Easter candy!
After Church we headed to Liberty Hill to Grandma and Papa's house. She again had fun playing with her cousins.
And she was a pro at egg hunting by her 4th attempt!

Showing Daddy what she found
We hope everyone had a great Easter!

Sorry for the underlining and different sized pictures - I don't know what is going on!

Camping

We made a trip to Canyon Lake for camping with friends the middle of April and we had a great time. We had perfect weather - nice and cool at night and warm enough for some sun bathing during the day! Jillian enjoyed riding down the hill on her bike.
She would just smile and say "Wee" the whole way down. We did it over and over...
She also enjoyed playing in the rocks and making big messes. Here she is trying to pour bubbles in her pot of rocks.
They guys spent some time fishing so we walked down to find them and had to take some pictures
Fishing with Daddy. I bet next time she will have her own pole

Bluebonnets

While we were in Hallettsville last weekend, we decided to take advantage of the few bluebonnets that are out this year. We figured they wouldn't be around by Easter with all the dry weather. Granny did a great job with the pictures as I didn't even have my camera. This 1st one is my favorite b/c it looks so rustic. Jillian definitely will be a country girl!
