9 Months

It is hard to believe that Jillian is already 9 months old - time sure does fly fast. She currently weighs 21 pounds and is 28 3/4 inches tall. She is keeping us on our toes. She can sure crawl fast now and some of her favorite places are standing beside the bathtub and throwing things in, trying to get her hands on the litter box and trying to get her hands on Bandit's food and water. She is cruising around really good and will stand for brief moments without holding on when she is distracted.

One thing is for sure Jillian likes to eat. She likes almost everything but there are some things she just really hates!

That video was taken a while ago but you get the idea. She really does not like any of the foods with chicken or turkey. She is more of a beef girl and likes the spaghetti and lasagna. We will see if she likes the real turkey tomorrow. Another thing you can say about her is she is very persistent when it comes to eating and she likes trying to feed herself.

Jillian is also starting to walk holding on to our fingers but of course Ms. Independent wants to walk by herself so she prefers walking behind her walker. You have to excuse the video, James things he has to surprise her and turn the video on when she does not see it so there is a lot of floor at the beginning of the video.

Unfortunately we do not have a lot of floor space for her to walk since we have a lot of carpet. Are there push behind toys that will actually roll on the carpet? Maybe Santa will bring her one.

A couple of weekends ago Jillian, Willa, and I went to Hallettsville. We had a great time and Jillian was able to go to her very first Indians football game. She caught on very fast to the whole clapping game and did really well throughout the entire game - I was very impressed. Unfortunately we lost but it was a great game!

Willa also enjoyed the game

The girls also had fun playing at Granny and Grandpa's house
Willa even let Jillian play with her Indian's football that she caught at the game.
The girls played so well together and it was so much fun to watch them.
This is what they were doing Sunday morning and I found it hilarious! They were literally playing "follow the leader." Jillian was crawling after Willa, who I guess decided to crawl just because she thought it was funny that Jillian could crawl after her.

Then Jillian discovered one of her favorite play toys - the door stopper. They took turns hitting it and listening to the noise it made. Jillian would hit it and then she would stop and look at Willa and then Willa would hit it. This went on for a while!

Then they moved on to the strange spot on Granny's floor where the linoleum is torn. Jillian would touch it and then Willa and back and forth.
I think it is so great that Jillian will be able to grow up with cousins so close to her age. Thanks Willa for coming to Hallettsville with us to play!

Halloween

We had a great Halloween! Jillian had the opportunity to wear her costume 3 times so we got our wear out of it. The city of Buda puts on a Halloween trick or treating event for the kids where the downtown stores stay open late to pass out candy and different companies set up booths to pass out candy as well. They call it Boo-da Halloween. This was Thursday night so we dressed up and went to check it out.

We met Chris, Jennifer, Jon & Willa and Brandon, Jennifer, Anneliese & Ainsley for the fun.

Friday at school, the daycare had a parade through the school and the kids got to wear their costumes again. This was definitely one of the benefits of having Jillian right there at school with me. I was able to follow them around a take lots of pictures.

Jillian riding with her buddy Avery. Avery is 2 months younger than Jillian and also lives right her in Buda. Her mom and I are convinced that they will be great friends.

Jillian's whole class and her teachers. Notice how Jillian is not cooperating b/c she wanted me to hold her.
Halloween night we dressed Jillian up and we sat in the driveway to pass out candy. She really enjoyed herself. She sat on a blanket with her glow stick and pumpkin full of toys and just watch all the kids go by.

We hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
