Baby News

Jillian is excited to say that she is going to be a BIG sister! Baby # 2 will be joining us mid March. I went to the doctor today and everything looks good!

Random Summer Discoveries

Jillian has been a busy bee this summer and she has discovered and experienced many new things. She recently had her very first Popsicle but wasn't too sure about it. She can hold ice in her hand but a Popsicle is apparently too cold.
She has figured out how to lock herself in the kennel with Bandit

She also learned that if she takes all of Mommy's bowls out of the cabinet, she...
Can hide in it!

She also climbs into anything she can possibly find

We really enjoyed our trip to Florida. Jillian did very well on the ride there. We made it in 13 hours with 2 stops to eat and a few bathroom and diaper change stops. She didn't sleep very much but played in her car seat. Amazingly all three kids were bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5 am at the start of the trip. Jon even wanted to know why Mr. Sun wasn't up yet! The beaches were beautiful with no signs of any oil at all. Jillian enjoyed playing in the sand the must. She wasn't as thrilled with the waves but would sit in them with someone else. She really enjoyed playing with Jon and Willa.

On the way back we stopped in New Orleans for two nights and by this time Jillian was pretty tired and fussy but overall she did ok. She walked Bourbon Street with us and we did some sight seeing the next day. We tried to go to an amusement park at the city park but unfortunately it was closed by the time we got there and we had to settle for pictures at the entrance.

We had a wonderful time on our vacation and created many memories. We hope everyone else is enjoying their summers as well!

Summer Fun

Jillian has been having lots of fun this summer. Mommy takes her to the play scape often and she has learned to navigate the entire thing by herself. She has good climbing skills.

She finally mastered walking over the moving bridge but she is sceptical each time she does it.
She really enjoys the slide!
She has also learned many new things this summer. She has experimented with corn on the cob on the 4th of July but doesn't quite understand which end she is supposed to eat from.
She likes walking in Mommy and Daddy's shoes
and has learned to pull her wagon

Camping

We headed camping again this past weekend with the Chances and the weather could not have been better. When you think about it, it was about 70 degrees warmer than last time and 10 degrees cooler than the same time we went last summer. The campsite was very shady and it was quite windy, which kept us nice and cool, especially at night. On the way to the lake we stopped at Sonic for a shake and Jillian loved it, once she got the hang of it. Needless to say, the shake was not very evenly shared with Mommy.
Umm, this is good!
Jillian enjoyed seeing all the deer at the campsite - I think she even called them Dogs (no surprise there)
When it was time to head to the lake the next morning, she didn't even bother to wait for Mommy - she was off
She enjoyed playing in the water and had no fear - she went head first into the water several times

She also enjoyed playing in the chair - here she is playing peek a boo with Kelly
She relaxed in her camping chair from Grandma and Papa
Played baseball with Daddy
Fought over the baseballs with Kenzie
And rode on her truck
She even took time to pose for a family picture
Jillian played so hard that she had a few bumps and bruises by the end of the weekend. She tripped and fell face first, bumped her nose and her chin and busted her lip a little.
Kenzie had an equally hard time with camping. She feel dancing, fell out of her high chair and tried to touch the hot grill. This was our attempt to get a picture of the girls matching chins with scratches on them
We all had a great time and hopefully the Chance's will invite us back again next year!

Jillian's Adventures

Jillian spent a total of 11 days at Granny's house (9 without mommy and daddy) and she had a wonderful time! She did lots of things. Of course, she had to get dressed up for Church and Granny could not resist pictures.
She picked some of Granny's flowers
Was fascinated by the cows, which she lovingly called "Dog!" Granny was determined to make her say cow and moo by the end of her stay. When I arrived she pointed at the cows and said, "Dog - woof, woof!"

She helped Grandpa mow the grass
Played in the swing
Swam in the swimming pool Granny and Grandpa had to buy for her
Played beauty shop - I think Granny did better with the pig tails than me
Played in the kitchen
Learned to open doors or at least she tries real hard
Learned to climb in chairs by herself
And of course had to have her buckets (all of them) while sitting in the chair

Helped Granny make cinnamon rolls and bread and um they were good

Thanks, Granny and Grandpa for taking care of me - I had fun!
